What do you get when a comedian of a copywriter becomes a BACON cheeseburger on Twitter?
You get a wise-cracking character who in less than 2 months outpaced its own parent brand. A brand already dominating the social space, second only to Starbucks.
Want to talk numbers? Less than 3 weeks old, Baconator was already reaching well over 1MM people. Virally. And that was on top of its existing fan base. In fact, through retweets, shout-outs, and word-of-mouth, I created an online persona organically outperforming its own paid-media buys.
scroll all the way, okay?
This one's kind of fucking incredible.
Daily scheduled posts got the crowd warmed up...
but where Baconator really took off was 1-on-1.
And I talked to every consumer. Every single one.
Rather than block or ignore trolls & f-bombers, Baconator used humor
to convert problem people into even more retweets and followers.
(Plenty worse than these. Trust me.)
Baconator even spoke other languages.
The results in the Twitterverse?
And in the Marketingverse?
Seriously. Some guy actually wrote this to Wendy's HQ.
And here's how all of it translated to the real world.
